Sage MMS v4 & Project Accounting

Launching Sage 200 (MMS) v4, Sage 200 Bill of Materials & Sage 200 Project Accounting.
Sage has recently re-branded Sage MMS to Sage 200 and this coincides with new product releases including Sage 200 v4, Sage 200 Bill of Materials and Sage 200 Project Accounting.
The philosophy behind the Sage 200 suite is to provide you with the means to implement flexible, integrated business processes that work the way you want them to. With software to control finance, distribution, CRM, retail, manufacturing, construction, services, and internal processes such as asset management, forecasting and HR, Sage 200 is unique among software offerings for the mid-market. Sage 200 gives you integrated business process management, combining Sage 200 Financials and Commercials, the Sage CRM product set and MS Office.
This gives you, the customer, very powerful benefits - integration you want, sophisticated business processes to the design you want and all of this in a familiar environment, with ease of use and affordability.
The first phase of the Sage 200 suite launch includes Sage 200 Financials, Commercials and Bill of Material packages, which have all evolved from the current Sage MMS product and the brand new module - Sage 200 Project Accounting.

Stock Control
The traceability functionality has been enhanced to accommodate up to 15 pieces of additional information such as QA standards and inspector references per serial or batch numbered items. Enhancements have been made to the way traceable numbers are automatically generated, improving accuracy and reducing the time taken to enter new numbers. In addition, each traceable stock item can have a use by date specified as a number of days, weeks months or years. The further ability to specify stock allocation rules also improves the overall stock handling in Sage 200.
Sales Order Processing
The Sales Order now records the actual as well as the estimated profit for a stock item. As a result true sales order profitability is recorded as the actual cost of an item is posted back to the order. In addition, enhancements have been made to the quotation functionality. Users are now able to quickly create quotes for prospect customers who do not have an account. On conversion of the quote users will be prompted to create a new account or link to an existing account. Purchase Order Processing
You now have the flexibility to specify whether Sales Orders for direct delivery are consolidated onto a single back to back purchase order or are maintained as separate orders. The ability to allocate stock to sales orders at the point of receiving the goods has also been added. As a result, you can now be notified of outstanding Sales Orders waiting for items and are provided with the option to allocate if required, improving efficiency as stock can be allocated as soon as it is booked in.
New Module: Project Accounting
What is Project Accounting?
The new project accounting module is a highly configurable costing and analysis module, designed for companies who want to analyse costs and profit by project. The module can be adjusted to suit the needs of businesses requiring simple or detailed costing and analysis structures. It provides in-depth analysis and reporting features to make sure projects remain on target and to maintain profit levels. Sage Project Accounting application has been developed from the extensive feedback of over 2,000 customers and over 50 Sage Business Partners; as a result:
It has been designed to be flexible and configurable Provide excellent enquiries and reports facilities Integrate with Sage 200 Financials, Commercials and Payroll Support migration from Sage 50 Costing and Sage 100 Job costing.
In short you will be able to record any time, resource or expense associated with a project.
Who is Project Accounting Suited to?
Project accounting can be used by any business that classes itself as providing a service, such as Consulting, Financial Services, Market Research, Software Development, Architects etc. In fact, any business that needs to improve project profits and performance and wants visibility into the actual time and expenses of a project as it progresses.
