Tell us about your background in IT?
I have been working in IT for nearly 20 years - working in lots of different industries during that time. Everything from small software houses to large corporate environments supporting 300-400 users concurrently.
I started off on IT help-desks, progressed to become an onsite engineer and eventually moved into implementation. I now manage the migration of entire networks.
What do you find interesting about the world of IT?
I have an affinity with Server and PC Hardware components and find the development of new and improved technologies over time very interesting. I enjoy spending time out of work tracking changes and developments in technology and how it improves all areas of our lives.
Could you give us an overview of your typical week at Pinnacle?
I am very lucky in that my role encompasses a wide variety of tasks. I can be doing a different job each week in a different part of the country or could be assigned to a single project that will take a couple of weeks to complete - implementing a server network for instance. We implement single file server/domain server networks all the way through to virtual environments and remote servers (for users that have no fixed office). On another week I could be supporting staff throughout Pinnacle or working with IT Services Sales to help with upcoming implementations.
No two weeks are ever the same as every customer has unique requirements for their IT environment.
What do you like most about working for Pinnacle?
I enjoy working amongst a team of dedicated individuals with different skills. Learning and passing on skills to others within the team.
