Pinnacle Team: IT Services
Role: Business Development Manager
How long you have been working for Pinnacle: 18 months
1.Tell us about your background in IT?
My career in IT started with Wang (UK) as a service engineer on Desktop and Multi-user WP Systems before moving into Business Services and the role of UK Business Pricing Analyst for products and services. I moved to a commercial IT Sales role during my late twenties and have specialised in Managed Infrastructure Services and Service Outsource to date. I have strong experience in the design and delivery of bespoke managed service solutions for SME and SMB customers across the majority of business sectors.
2. Could you give us an overview of your typical week at Pinnacle?
My role involves developing new business acquisition as well as being responsible for managing and nurturing Pinnacle IT Services customers in the Midlands. I can be exceptionally busy at times managing customers’ and their requests and I really enjoy long term relationship building with them.
3. What is the most helpful / intuitive product we supply and why?
Our Cloud Backup Solutions offer better value for money than ever before and having the scope to remove human intervention from this process is the most helpful development for SMB customers and how they can manage their data cost effectively.
4. Are there any recent developments in the Tech industry that you find particularly interesting?
I have been interested in IOT for some time and believe we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of how this application will be used by business and consumers in the next five years along with the challenge that BIG DATA of course will present for all of us in the near future. I also have a great deal of interest in IT Security and how MSP’s are now partnering with cyber security experts to give their clients best in class advice as cyber-crime coupled with fraud continues to grow at an alarming rate and standard anti-virus and firewall just isn’t cutting it anymore!
5. What do you like most about working for Pinnacle?
It’s a very sociable company and I do enjoy eating and drinking and having fun with my colleagues which I think is invaluable when working on challenging projects together. We are empowered to come up with new ideas to take the company forward and I really like being part of something not just a number.
6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have a Golf handicap of 9 but in recent years I have been coarse fishing competitively on the open match circuit. I put a lot of effort in to prepare for these matches at the weekend and I am obsessed with it my wife would say!
7. What is the one thing about you that might surprise people?
I am an excellent cook specialising in Pan Asian Cuisine and can produce most dishes you will order in a restaurant.
