Next generation ERP suite launched at Smart Business Dublin
As the SME market gathered at the RDS in Dublin for 2 days of networking, talks and exhibitions Oisin Geraghty, Senior Sales Manager of Sage Ireland, echoed sentiments from Dara Murphy TD, Minister of State for European Affairs and Data Protection, who opened the show calling on Irish SMEs to gear up for e-commerce and embrace opportunities for innovation in the digital economy to assist them with growth.
“Ireland is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe and the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) market must capitalise on the technologies available to them in order to grow.
One of the big trends in technology that we are seeing at Sage is a huge increase in cloud adoption. In the last two years, Irish SMEs have begun to realise the value and the freedom in having access to business-critical information from anywhere, at any time.
While the number of businesses with no awareness or plans to invest in cloud is decreasing, they are still a significant cohort of the SME community in Ireland and it’s important that they are provided with the choice of both on premise and online solutions.
Recent research has shown that 71% of SMEs in Ireland are either already using or have plans to adopt cloud computing technologies in their business. This represents a significant increase since April 2013, when the figure was at 38%. At the same time, the number of businesses in Ireland that are still unaware of what cloud computing is has dropped from 25% to 17%”.
Siobhan Marley, Director of Business Development at Pinnacle, commented on Sage's latest offering to the mid-market.
“We very much see Sage 200 as the key offering to the SME business experiencing growth.
Critical for our customers today is the ability to have software integration across all departments within a business, opening up more insight to assist the whole company working together.
Flexibility for deployment is a must for today’s business operations whether deployed on desktop, mobile or cloud. Sage 200 encompasses these features while also providing rich industry specific functionality - especially for the manufacturing, distribution and business services sectors.
We are already supporting a number of growing Irish brands with Sage 200 including Mash Direct, Titanic Belfast and Vita Liberata”
