Pinnacle proves a safe pair of hands for CIS Security IT infrastructure

It’s a new era in a relationship that goes back to 2013, when CIS Security selected Pinnacle to implement Sage 200 business management software, as a modern platform for financial and commercial transactions and management reporting. Since then, CIS Security has experienced significant organic growth, turnover has increased by over 50% from £29 million to £44 million.

CIS Security Technical Development Manager, Steve Downs, explains how the switch to Pinnacle for wide-ranging service and support reflects the increasing importance of IT to the company’s growth ambitions. “By comprehensively upgrading and streamlining our IT network, Pinnacle has created and developed a solid platform with the flexibility to accommodate further business expansion in the future, including the possibility of opening new offices outside London.”

Pinnacle has also helped to streamline communications between head office and managers based on remote client sites, with a robust connection for holding virtual Skype meetings and a move to cloud-based Microsoft Office 365. This provides in-the-cloud access to essential business tools from any location with an internet connection.

Steve Downs continues, “Pinnacle is now our single point of contact for all IT-related issues. In fact, it would be easier to say what they don’t look after! As well as assisting us in developing and rolling out our IT strategy, they provide essential day-to-day user support, with excellent response times to all users, both in our London head office and our site managers up and down the country.”

He notes, “As a security company, we encourage our clients to ‘think the unthinkable’, envisaging and planning for the worst-case scenario. Pinnacle helps us to safeguard our own business with resilient offsite backup and restore. Our data is essentially held in a secure bunker, so if we were to suffer a major data loss or if our offices were compromised, we would be back in action instantly. Being able to satisfy the stringent security requirements of our clients, particularly those in the financial sector, has been a factor in winning new business.”

Pinnacle is now supporting the massive renovation, refit and expansion of CIS Security’s London head office. According to Steve Downs, “By taking on responsibility for aspects such as network planning and cabling, CCTV, access control and door-entry systems and liaising with third-party suppliers on our behalf, the Pinnacle team frees internal resources to focus on our business and on fulfilling our responsibilities to our clients.”
